Hank Snow holds the record of being the oldest country performer ever to have a number one hit. At the age of sixty one his greatest songs, "Hello Love” was recorded. Hank had the honor of being asked to perform for many heads of state and in 1994 received an honorary doctorate from St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. His biography “The Hank Snow Story” is his personal record of his hard times as a youth all the way through his lustrous career. Hank passed away in December 1999 at his beloved home in Madison, TN at the age of 85. We thank him for all the wonderful music he left us with.

These country classic song lyrics are the property of the respective artist, authors and labels, they are intended solely for educational purposes and private study only. The chords provided are my interpretation and their accuracy is not guaranteed.

I miss turning on the radio and hearing a good country song, I don’t mean what they call country today but what it used to be when
steel guitars and fiddles were in every band. It seems the term “country music” has gotten mislabeled on so much of today’s music. Where are all the Hanks, Eddy Arnolds, Faron Youngs, etc. the list could go on and on. Now I either have to play an LP, cassette tape, cd or just grab my old guitar and have my wife sing while I pick to hear real country music. We hope these free country song lyrics with chords will help you learn to play and sing a few of these country classics.

When we talk about classic country music, Hank Snow has to be included, he recorded many great songs and had a ton of chart singles. One of my favorites has to be "I've been everywhere", those words come flying out of his mouth.
