Paper Doll recorded by Hank Thompson written by Johnny Black C
D7 I'm gonna buy a paper doll that I can call my own
C A doll that other fellows cannot steal
G7 E7 And then those flirty flirty guys with their flirty flirty eyes
G7 Will have to flirt with dollies that are real
G7 C When I come home at night she will be waiting
G7 E7 She'll be the truest doll in all this world
C E7 A7 I'd rather have a paper doll to call my own
F G7 C Than have a fickle minded real live girl
C I guess I've had a million dolls or more
E7 Am I guess I've played the doll game o'er and o'er
C I just quarreled with Sue that's why I'm blue
G7 D7 G7 She's gone away and left me just like all dolls do
G7 C I'll tell you boys it's tough to be alone
E7 Am And it's tough to love a doll that's not your own G
G E7 I'm through with all of them I'll never fall again A7 D7 G7 Hey boys here's what I'll do
Repeat #1 and #2

wonderful song has been recorded by many artists and they're all good,
but I much prefer Hank Thompson's version because of his band, the
"Brazos Valley Boys". If you like up tempo music with a bit of western
swing you'll enjoy it as well. Print out Paper Doll
lyrics and chords, it takes practice to get the timing down, I'm not a
good picker and I have to leave off a few of what I call exotic chords,
but it works ok.
